The second World War. Almost eighty years ago now. We were taught about it in school. We saw the movies and documentaries. We read the books and diaries. We learned that it was so bad that we must never forget it. But how do you do that?

Remembering that is not self-evident. Especially not if you’re young, or if you haven’t lived here very long, or if you know a war that now ravaged your front yard. Hence the question that Studio Herinner asks: ‘what does remembering mean to you? Studio Herinner will investigate this question in the coming years by talking about it and sharing it.

On 20 October, the kick-off of Brabant Remembers was held in the provincial government building in ‘s-Hertogenbosch and we talked about how we can commemorate, remember and celebrate 80 years of freedom. A great turnout and a day full of lectures, workshops and personal meetings.
